Vicki Spandel

Vicki Spandel has been a writing teacher, journalist, technical writer, and award-winning video producer. In 1984, she coordinated the seventeen-member teacher team that developed the original, widely acclaimed 6-trait model for writing assessment and instruction, a model that has become the basis for her nationally recognized workshops for teachers K–12. Vicki is the author of numerous books and instructional materials for writing teachers and students, including Creating Writers, Fourth Edition (2005), Creating Young Writers (2004), and the Write Traits Classroom Kits for grades 1–8 as well as for advanced levels.
